While many dog trainers and obedience schools focus on teaching mechanical actions and tricks by using treats and toys, we find this to be a shallow and disempowering approach which rarely helps or gives owners control in real life situations. SitDropStay Director and Head Trainer, George Lygidakis has been training and rehabilitating dogs for over 30 years. A former police dog handler and trainer, he then focused his attention on dog psychology and behaviour, as well as human and dog relationships, interspecies communication and the art of dog whispering.
Alarmed at the epidemic of badly behaved, anxious and over stimulated dogs, and the often questionable advice and misinformation given by most trainers, behaviourists and veterinarians, George wanted to create a system that was simple, holistic, natural and intuitive.
This journey led him to realise that it is our relationship and our own behaviour with our dog that is the foundation of achieving willing co-operation.
